(born in Parma, the 7th of August 1964) is a cinematic and documentary producer.

 

He is co-producer and creator of “Super 8 Stories”, the musical documentary of Emir Kusturica on the No Smoking Orchestra, presented at the Berlin Film Festival in 2001, and later honored with the Silver Plaque at the Chicago International Film Festival in the same year.

 

Between 2006 and 2010, he has been executive producer of a video project based on theatrical performances by Fabrizio Gifuni, directed by Giuseppe Bertolucci, and respectively dedicated to Pier Paolo Pasolini in the play “Na specie de cadaver lunghissimo” ‘Istryo Price in 2006), and “L’ingegner Gadda va alla Guerra” (winner of two Ubu Prices in 2010), dedicated to the namesake Italian writer, both distributed by Minimum Fax. 

 

 

He co-produced “Il Mago del cinema: l’incredibile storia di Mr. Corman, regista low budget” (“The cinema Magician: the incredible story of Mr. Corman, low-budget director”) (2008) distributed in DVD by Valter Casini editor.  

 

 

In 2011, he producedt he film “Ulidi, Piccola mia”, film of the debuting director Mateo Zoni, presented at the Turin Film Festival and distributed by the Luce Institute.

 

In 2012 he co-produced “Full Metal Joker”, with Matthew Modine, directed by Emiliano Montanari, which was presented at the International Film Festival in Rome, alongside a big photographic exhibition with pictures of the protagonist, from the set of “Full Metal Jacket” by Stanley Kubrick.

 

In 2014 he is co-producer of “Il sale della terra”, a documentary directed by Wim Wenders and Juliano Ribeiro on the photo reporter Sebastiao Salgado, which won the Special Jury Prize at the Cannes Film Festival in 2014 in the ‘Un Certain Regard’ section and the Prize of the Ecumenical Jury-Special Mention; the Public Prize at the International Film Festival in San Sebastian in 2014 and at the Dubai International Film Festival, the Cesar Prize for best documentary in France and it earned a nomination in the last selection of five movie of the Academy Awards in 2015, in the section ‘documentary’.

 

He co-produced, in collaboration with the Vatican Television Center, a documentary on the Swiss Guards unit named “L’Esercito più piccolo del mondo” (“The world’s Littlest army”), directed by Gianfranco Pannone, presented as a preview at the 72nd Cinema Film Festival in Venice in 2015 and acquired by RAI1.

 

In 2017 he produced the film “Evviva Giuseppe”, with the Cineteca of Bologna, directed by Stefano Consiglio and presented at the Venice Film Festival, acquired by SKY Arte.

 

In 2018, he produced the film “Papa Francesco – un uomo di parola” (“Pope Francis – a man of his words). Directed by Wim Wenders, realized in an Italian co-production with Switzerland, Germany and France, in collaboration with the Vatican Television Center. It’s distributed in the world by Focus Universal and presented, as a special event, at Cannes Film Festival.

 

In 2018 he also produced “In questo mondo”, a documentary directed by Anna Kauber on the Italian pastors. Co-produced with Aki, the film won a prize at the Turin Film Festival in the documentary section and one at the Festival Extra Doc at Maxxi in Rome. It was acquired by RAI1.

 

 

He finished in 2019 a documentary, “Mi chiamo Altan e faccio vignette”, directed by Stefano Consiglio, financed by MIBAC, in co-production with Indigo Film. It was presented at the Turin Film Festival and at the Maxxi museum in Rome and it’s now on Sky Italia.

 

In 2021 he produced “Fellini e l’Ombra”, a documentary directed by Catherine McGilvray co-produced with Celestes Images, RSI and Istituto Luce Cinecittà, the film was presented in Giornate degli Autori in Festival of Venice and it’s now on Amazon Italia. In the same year is coproducer with Celestes Images a documentary “Architetto Guidini” directed by Olmo Cerri on RSI.

In 2022 he produced “Pasolini, Cronaca di un delitto politico”, a documentary directed by Paolo Fiore Angelini, co-produced and ditribuited with Cineteca di Bologna, the film was presented in Festival of Rome and it’s now on Sky Italia.

 

In 2023 he produced “Arrigo Sacchi, la favola di un visionario”, a documentary directed by Nevio Casadio, co-produced with Medusa, the film is now on Sky Italia.
